Classes be be paused during the summer, since everyone wants to get out and enjoy the sun. The final regular session ends in mid-May, and then we’ll resume sometime in August.

This is a recurring six-week course. Call or drop in to the shop to reserve your place in a class.

New students, or those returning to glass from long years past, will be taught both the copper foil and lead came techniques. Students make two projects of limited size (to ensure completing both), one of each technique. Designs are selected from a range of them available in our beginner’s pattern binder.

- Solder, Miracle Mudd (cement for leading)
- Lead, Zinc
Not included are:

Intermediate: $180

Students can pick from a larger range of patterns, or bring in their own. Larger projects (up to about 2’ x 3’) may be made, though they might not be finished within the 6 week span. Students supply their own tools, glass, and supplies, all of which may be bought at our shop. Optionally, shop tools may be used for an additional $30 for the 6 weeks.

Supplies:

Beginner classes have most materials included, aside from glass & copper foil.

Intermediate classes do not include materials in the cost.

A starter kit is available and may be purchased at $269.00 plus tax. This reflects over a 20% discount compared to buying the items individually. Basically every tool you need is included, except for a grinder (e.g. Weller 100W iron, breaking & running pliers, Toyo glass cutter, etc). There are a number of consumables also included, e.g. Miracle Mudd (cement), whiting, 7/32” black back copper foil, patina, 1# of solder, etc.
