We are excited to offer open studio night for fusers!  For a $30.00 fee we will provide you with access to the tools and space in the shop as well as one kiln firing of your piece, up to 1 sq. foot.  Larger pieces and additional firings will be individually assessed.  We will provide ideas and demo's each week and have hands on support with two instructors, Our glass molds will also be available for your projects at an additional fee. Beginner to expert, ages 13 and up.

No prior fusing experience required; but cutting skills are needed.  Attend a first night of Stained Glass Class for instruction. Cost $25.00

Morton Madness

Develop your skills in using the Morton jig system for cutting repetitive shapes. Bring your Morton tools, so you can practice using your own tools as you perfect various cuts. If you do not own the Morton system yet, some classroom sets will be available for use in class. Morton has a new cutting surface and has upgraded their system.

Solder Sculpting

This workshop is an introduction to the basics of decorative soldering techniques and provides instruction for creating fun and popular textures. You will create a unique picture frame.

Mosaic Madness

Learn the art of working with Italian Millefiori, cane and slices. You will construct a mosaic mirror for an interior location. Construction techniques for the direct method such as preparing the base/support structure, choosing adhesives, applying the grout will be taught. Finishing touches will insure a professional look to your beautiful piece of art.

Pre-requisite: Meet with instructor prior to class to pick up template. You will need to have your design drawn out on your template * and most of your glass nipped up or cut. You can also include other found objects in your project as well. In the past, some students have used dishes, tiles, shells, and beads. Be creative!

Note:  Choose between a 12” x 15” rectangle, 14" by 17" Oval and 8” round plywood base.

Painting 101

Each student will trace and matte a piece of clear glass over a black and white design of their choice. Sample designs will be available, or students are welcome to bring their own. The size of the project will be 8" x 10". Multiple layers of paint will be applied and the piece will be fired with the goal of creating depth and shading in one firing. By the end of the class, attendees should feel comfortable adding paint to any project.

Keepsake Box

You will be guided through the basic steps of box building. Do you have a place to put your special treasures? With the instruction and handy tips in this class, you’ll build a keepsake box that has a purpose. Working with ball chain and filigree can be tricky, but once you master these techniques, you will be able to create more detailed and unique boxes.

Most fused pieces have a certain look, ¼: thick with a kiln shelf texture on the back. Learn ways of separating your work from the masses.  In this lecture/demo class we will explore elements of design and display including texture, thickness, tack-fuse, holes, flat polish, lighting, hanging and stands.

Join us for a hot fun evening as we blow unique heirloom ornaments. We will be using pre-blown clear glass cylinders with a blow pipe end, fill them with frit and stringers, and then heat them over a torch and blow. It is the same product used throughout Europe for making Christmas tree ornaments. With a little practice and patience you will be off to a running start for your holiday season.

No experience necessary.
Class fee covers 10 ornaments.

Fused Snowflakes

We will show you how to use the Morton System to strip cut ¼" pieces of F96 glass and layer them to create beautiful fused snowflakes to hang on your tree or give as a gift.

Bring: Loctite Super Glue*, Mosaic nippers & glass cutting tools if you have them.
Cost: $25.00 - 6 snowflakes ~Limit: 20 students
*Super glue needs to be Loctite Super Glue (plain) no Gel or Pro.

Ultimate Wine Bottle

Experiment with unique decorating ideas for your fused wine bottle. We will use special inks, along with your photo, to create a beautiful finished piece that can be used as a cheese tray or hung on the wall as a decoration.

Real Photographs or wine label that we can cut and sized to the bottle, old calendar pictures work well. Bring a variety.
