Copper Foil Overlay Workshop
Carol Doherty and Robyn Johnson
In this workshop you will learn how to create a copper foil overlay. An overlay can add detail and a deeper dimension to your project. You will be creating a 12” square piece, choosing from our templates (a bird, fish or a tree). You can hang your piece or incorporate it in another window.
We will provide: pattern, 12” piece of glass, copper sheet, zinc and handy hangers
Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Bring: 50/50, flux, rheostat, soldering tools, exacto knife with extra blades

Design & Color
This seminar examines what you are trying to communicate with your art. Learn how to draw your own patterns and choose art glass that will enhance your project. Basic design elements will be covered, including line, texture, color and composition.

Design and Display of your Kiln-formed glass projects
Most fused pieces have a certain look, ¼: thick with a kiln shelf texture on the back.
Learn ways of separating your work from the masses. In this lecture/demo class we will explore elements of design and display including texture, thickness, tack-fuse, holes, flat polish, lighting, hanging and stands.
Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Bring: Pen and Paper
Develop your skills in using the Morton jig system for cutting repetitive shapes. Bring your Morton tools, so you can practice using your own tools as you perfect various cuts. If you do not own the Morton system yet, some classroom sets will be available for use in class. Morton has a new cutting surface and has upgraded their system.

This workshop is an introduction to the basics of decorative soldering techniques and provides instruction for creating fun and popular textures. You will create a unique picture frame or wand.

Wednesday, : Part 1: Copper Foil and Tiffany Lamps

Do you own a Tiffany Style lamp that has cracked or broken pieces, a copper foil project or maybe a leaded window? Let us take you through the delicate process of removing and replacing the damaged glass. Repairs can take a few hours or several days depending on the damage. This is a hands on class so bring your lampshade and leaded window to class. Replacement glass will have to be matched and ordered prior to the class.
Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Bring: Your tool kit

Make a Wish and Blow

Join us for a hot fun evening as we blow unique heirloom ornaments. We will be using pre-blown clear glass cylinders with a blow pipe end, fill them with frit and stringers, and then heat them over a torch and blow. It is the same product used throughout Europe for making Christmas tree ornaments. With a little practice and patience you will be off to a running start for your holiday season. No experience necessary. Class fee covers 10 ornaments.
